Joining Forces

In the last month, White Mike has met several times with Paul Watson and members of the Sea Shepherd organization. We have decided to join forces with the Sea Shepherds for our ‘09 campaign and will be announcing our partnership in more detail when we return from the trip. It was very nice to hand the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society a check last week after selling a shark print because we know the money will go to good use.

GREAT WHITE Expedition 2009

We haven’t been able to post any art up in the last few weeks because we’ve been prepping for our upcoming expedition, which we embark on tomorrow. This expedition has a been a year in the planning and has required great efforts and we’ve received much needed support from a multitude of companies & individuals. The goal of this expedition will be to document Great Whites in a way that has never been done before. We won’t go into detail because you will be able to view this all soon enough.

SEA SHEPHERD ART SHOW

At the last minute, we donated an original poster to the “Sea No Evil” art show: An Art Benefit to Preserve & Protect the Oceans of the World taking place this weekend in Riverside, California. This art benefit is going to be a packed event with Shepherd Fairey as a featured Guest DJ.

There will be a silent art auction to help raise money for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as well as an appearance from guest speaker Captain Paul Watson, the founder of Sea Shepherd.

We took whitey to the border. It was funny how many people asked how much for the poster, we could actually move some posters if there was someone willing to stand in the sun all day and sling them. It was nice to get such support from everyone in their cars waiting in line to cross into the United States.

We took the campaign to St. Louis today. After last week’s drama in OK, we hope the sharks resonate in people’s minds and hearts. What a great city with such amazing architecture…There were too many places that would’ve made a great home for Whitey.
